Our Review Process

How we evaluate debt relief companies, how rankings work, and how compensation relates to listings on this site.

Placeholder methodology. Confirm ranking factors and whether compensation affects order (disclose clearly).

What we look at

DebtProductReviews.org assesses debt relief companies using a mix of publicly available information and editorial review. Factors typically include:

  • Years in business and operational footprint
  • Accreditations and third-party ratings (when available and verifiable)
  • Fee transparency and clarity of program terms
  • Services offered and eligibility guidance
  • Customer experience signals from public reporting
  • Ease of getting information without high-pressure tactics

How scores work

Company scores on our homepage (for example, 9.8 Excellent) summarize our editorial assessment on a 10-point scale. Scores are not user-generated star averages. They are not a guarantee of approval, savings, or results for any individual.

How rankings work

Our “top companies” list is ordered using our evaluation plus commercial factors. We do not claim to review every company in the market. Featured placement and order may be influenced by advertising relationships.

Advertiser disclosure

DebtProductReviews.org features listings of companies from which our site may receive compensation. Compensation can take the form of referral fees, marketing fees, or other payments when you click, call, submit a form, or enroll with an advertiser. This relationship can affect which companies appear and in what order.

Any relationship you form with an advertiser is exclusively between you and that company. We do not warrant the products or services provided by advertisers. Always review terms directly with the provider.

Updates

We aim to refresh rankings and review pages as information changes. The homepage shows the most recent update date for the current list.
